Terms of Service
The short version: buy a guide, get a guide. They're digital downloads for your own personal use, we own the words and you don't resell them, and if a purchase goes wrong our refund policy has you covered. The full version is below — still in plain English.
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website at softresetbooks.com and any digital products you buy from us (together, the "Service"). By visiting the site or buying a product, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Who we are
"Soft Reset" (we / us / our) is a small independent business that writes and sells digital parenting guides. You can reach a real human any time at hello@softresetbooks.com.
What we sell
We sell digital products — downloadable guides, printables, and similar files. They are delivered electronically; there is no physical item and nothing is shipped. You are responsible for having a device and software able to open standard files (e.g. PDF).
Your licence to use them
When you buy a guide, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download it and use it for your own household and parenting. That's it — and that's plenty.
Please don't: resell, sublicense, or redistribute the files; post them publicly or share them on file-sharing sites; pass them off as your own; or use our content to train a commercial AI model. If you'd like to use an excerpt (for a review, a class, a community group), just email us — we're friendly about reasonable requests.
Purchases & payment
Checkout and payment are handled by our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy, who act as our merchant of record. Prices are shown at checkout and may include sales tax or VAT depending on your location. By completing a purchase you confirm the payment details are yours and authorize the charge. We may refuse or cancel an order if we suspect fraud or an error in pricing.
Refunds
Because these are instantly-delivered digital goods, refunds work a little differently from physical products. The details — including when you're eligible and how to ask — live on our refund policy page, which forms part of these Terms.
Acceptable use
When using the site, please don't try to break, overload, scrape at scale, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to it, and don't use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend access if the Service is being misused.
Intellectual property
All content we create — the guides, text, illustrations, the "soft reset" name and logo, and the site design — is owned by Soft Reset and protected by copyright and trademark law. Buying a guide gives you the licence above; it does not transfer ownership.
Not medical or professional advice
Our guides offer general parenting ideas and routines that have helped other families. They are not medical, psychological, or professional advice, and every child is different. You use your own judgment, and for any health or developmental concern please consult a qualified professional. We're not liable for outcomes from following general suggestions.
Third-party services & links
We rely on a few trusted third parties (payment, email, hosting) and may link to other sites. We're not responsible for the content or practices of services we don't control — their own terms and privacy policies apply.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't promise the site will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent the law allows, Soft Reset will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law in your country.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date below. Material changes take effect when posted; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
