Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect the bare minimum to deliver your purchase and the occasional friendly email. We don't sell your data, ever. We use a small handful of well-known services to run the business, and we'll tell you exactly which ones below.
Who we are
"Soft Reset" (we / us / our) operates this website at softresetbooks.com and sells digital parenting guides. If you have any privacy question, the fastest way to reach a human is hello@softresetbooks.com.
What we collect
When you buy a guide. Your name, email address, billing country, and (where required for tax) billing region. Card data is never seen by us — it goes directly to our payment processor (see below).
When you visit the site. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, the page you visited, and timestamp) and basic, privacy-respecting analytics so we know which content is helping people. We do not use ad-tracking pixels.
When you email us. Whatever you choose to write us. We keep emails so we can answer follow-ups.
How we use it
To deliver the product you bought, send your receipt, answer your questions, process refunds, comply with tax law, prevent fraud, and — only if you opt in at checkout — send the occasional new-product or update email (one-click unsubscribe always).
Who we share it with
The short list. We use these processors and only these processors:
- Lemon Squeezy — handles the checkout, payment, receipts, sales-tax, and refunds. Their privacy policy covers the data they hold.
- Email service provider — for sending receipts and (opt-in only) occasional updates. Standard transactional & marketing email tooling.
- Web hosting & CDN — to serve the site and the PDF download to you.
- Analytics — privacy-respecting (no cross-site tracking, no third-party ad pixels).
That is the full list. We do not sell your personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not pass it to data brokers.
Cookies
We use only the cookies necessary to run the site and the checkout. The Lemon Squeezy checkout sets its own cookies during payment, which is required to complete a purchase. We do not run third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Order data: as long as required for tax, accounting, and refund eligibility (up to 7 years in some jurisdictions). Email correspondence: until you ask us to delete it, or until it's no longer relevant — whichever comes first. Server logs: typically 30 days.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email us to request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you're in the EEA / UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA / CPRA), you have the formal right to access, correct, port, restrict, or delete your data, and to object to processing. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.
To exercise any right, email hello@softresetbooks.com. We respond within 30 days, usually within 1–2 business days.
Children
Soft Reset products are written for adults — parents and caregivers. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle data, we'll update this page and update the "Last updated" date below. If we ever start doing something significantly different (we don't plan to), we'll email anyone on our list before it takes effect.
